Our elderlies benefit and relish their remaining lives with their children and grandchildren providing them their daily essentials such as health, welfare, maintenance, and protection. A Filipino must conform to what is predominantly accepted and expected by the society. This distinguishing quality among Filipinos makes it an orthodox way of life. This has in some way shed a light on why grandparents customarily live with at least one family member generally the eldest child. Because of this significant difference in how we care for our older member of the family, our seniors mostly stay at home to occupy or entertain themselves but with my grandparents cooking and chatting all day, there’s just no time left for other things to do. In contrast to the way the Western approach aging is totally different – culturally and sociologically. They are provided with care from external providers or nursing hom es.
